Using Large Fonts with EIOBoard
Posted by Savance on 02 November 2010 05:18 PM

At this time, Large Fonts are not supported with the EIOBoard Application or Outlook Interface.  Although we intend to support Large Fonts in version 8, it is recommended that Normal Fonts are used at this time for best results.

There is a bug with the Microsoft .NET Framework where the automatic scaling functionality that does not correctly resize ActiveX controls embedded on .NET Windows forms when the resolution is changed.  For more information on this issue visit the following:
http://edndoc.esri.com/arcobjects/9.2/net/6cebc1d9-2318-472e-923a-13e13b1a8e45.htm

This issue means that several screens in EIOBoard will not be resized properly if Large Fonts are used, such as the Status View, Search, and Administrator.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

As a workaround, you can adjust your display settings from Large Fonts to Normal Fonts.  The instructions differ slightly depending on which version of Windows you are using.

For Windows XP:
Go into the Control Panel and open the "Display" settings.  Select the "Settings" tab and click the "Advanced" button.  On the "General" tab, select "Normal size (96 DPI)" from the "DPI Setting" dropdown, then click "OK".

For Windows Vista:
Go into the Control Panel and open "Personalization".  There should be a link to "Adjust font size (DPI)" on the left side of the window under the "Tasks" section.  Change the setting from "Larger scale" to "Default scale" and click "OK".

For Windows 7:
Certain builds of Windows 7 have large fonts enabled by default.  To change this, go into the Control Panel and open "Appearance and Personalization".  Under the "Display" section, click the "Make text and other items larger or smaller" link.  Select "Smaller - 100%" and click "Apply".
