Version 10
The latest release requires Windows Server 2012 R2 (any edition), 2016 (any edition), 2019, or 2022. The installer will automatically download any prerequisites and install them (which may require a reboot).
In the event of needing to install any prerequisites manually, they can be found here:
The data is stored in a SQL database and any version of SQL is supported from SQL Server 2012 (any edition including Express). You can either use an existing SQL server if you have one (even if it resides on a separate server) and if you do not have SQL installed, then the EIOBoard Intranet Installer will automatically download the greatest version of SQL compatible for the operating system. While it's not required, it's generally recommended to install SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to be able to access the database in case you need to:
All interfaces communicate through the EIOBoard Website configured in Internet Information Services (IIS) which must also be installed on the server. If this is not currently installed, you can install it from Windows Features or the installer will attempt to handle it for you. If you need to install them from the Server Manager manually, they are:
- Server Roles: IIS
- Features: .NET Framework 4.7 Features-> ASP.NET 4.7A

What Browsers are Compatible with EIOBoard?
It is highly recommended that a server-class Windows operating system is used due to limitations in Internet Information Services (IIS) and licensing restrictions on operating systems similar to Windows 10. As for hardware requirements, if your server is powerful enough to run a Windows Server operating system, it is powerful enough to run the EIOBoard On-Premise Server. Version 9
Version 9 requires Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 to be installed on your EIOBoard Server, which is only supported on Windows Server 2003, 2008 (any edition), 2012 (any edition), or 2016 (any edition). If it is not already installed on your server, the installer will automatically download and install this (which may require a reboot).
The data is stored in a SQL database and any version of SQL is supported from SQL Server 2005 (any edition including Express), SQL 2008 (any edition including Express), SQL 2012 (any edition including express), or SQL 2016 (any edition including express). You can either use an existing SQL server if you have one (even if it resides on a separate server) and if you do not have SQL installed, then the EIOBoard Intranet Installer will automatically download and install SQL 2005 Express. For Windows 2012 or 2016, you must manually install SQL Express 2008, 2012, or 2016 as 2005 Express has incompatabilities with Windows 2012 and Windows 2016.
All interfaces communicate through the EIOBoard Website configured in Internet Information Services (IIS) which must also be installed on the server. If this is not currently installed, you can install it from Add/Remove Windows Components (for Windows Server 2003) or Windows Features (for Windows Server 2008 and 2012).
