Error Opening COM PORT: Access To The Port COM{X} Is Denied

When opening the OrderSavant application, you may receive the following error message:
ERROR OPENING COM PORT: ACCESS TO THE PORT COM{X} IS DENIED
This occurs to PCs that are configured with a barcode scanner or credit card scanner. This is due to having multiple instances of OrderSavant open on the PC at the same time. The first instance of OrderSavant takes control of the COM ports that the application uses. The second instance attempts to use these same COM ports, but cannot because they are locked by the first instance. Ensure that only one instance is open to resolve this issue. | |
