Managing Bin Locations:

By Default, the Bins in the “Holding Bins” section are:

ReceivingBin

Staging Bin

InTransitBin

ShippingBin

MovingBin

You may add more bins by right clicking the section header and selecting Add Bin. This will bring up the window seen below. The Full Location and Bin Type will fill in automatically, but you will need to fill in the Name and optional description.

Fill in the name and physical location of the Bin, give it a description. Bin Type defines the kind of Bin this is.

Holding Bin Settings:

There are a couple of settings that pertain to Suspect On Hand Bin. Go to Settings > General Settings > General > System. This will allow you to change the settings for the current PC. You will see that there is a drop down box labeled "Default Suspect On Hand Bin" on the right. This will allow you to select from all Suspect On Hand Bins, which determines which will be the default for this PC.

Now if you move over to the Point of Sale Tab. Assuming the Point of Sale box is checked, you can choose the Suspect On Hand Bin for POS, defaulting it to your new bin.

Managing Locations:

Warehouse Management is an essential part of the process. In order to make it easier for a Warehouse Locator to find, sort, and receive an Item, Warehouse Location Management can be configured to divide and separate items based on type, Manufacturer, or Warehouse defined sorting.

By default, a **NO LOCATION ** is set to an item with no location, if you click on it, it will display all items not assigned to a location. Those items will be displayed in the lower right corner of the screen under “Items in the ** NO LOCATION** Location:

To add a new “Root location”, (this could be an area, or a cabinet that has many shelves) Right click anywhere in the locations pane and choose “Add Location to Root Level”

This will pop up a new dialog box which allows you to give that location a name, a physical location, and description:

After defining the root location, we need to add a child location, this is useful if the root location is an area or or a cabinet, and we are defining shelf numbers for a more specific search, for example, Cabinet 1 shelf A. You can add more child locations if for example you want to go for Row A, Cabinet 1, Shelf A, and your Location will be A-1-A.

Assigning Items to locations:

After creating locations, I will navigate to the location in the locations tree. Then on the lower right pane (in our example) I will see “Items in the “A-1-A” Location. Now if I right click any empty area within that pane, a menu will appear allowing me to add items:

When you click “Add Item” the inventory lookup will appear and you can search for the items you would like to add. You can select multiple items to add by holding the control key while clicking them.

Your items have been added to your location. You can also remove these items from a certain location by right clicking the item and select “Remove Item”. You can also havean item in multiple locations by simply dragging it, this will show the item located in more than one place, with its default location (Star).

This concludes Bin locations, please email support@savanceenterprise.com if you have any questions regarding the above subject.
