Error 12045 During Kiosk Install on Windows 7 Embedded

This OS is not supported beyond Version 9.1.31. The device would complete the installation process but during the closeout. It attempted to download files. The package would give an error 12045. A similar issue was resolved by upgrading to IE 10, or disabling IE and set the Internet Options to the lowest settings. Neither approach worked in my case. Everything was routed through Chrome when any URLs were selected but the installer would always roll back to uninstall everything. So, I installed all the certificates we needed for code signing. This still didn't help. The best option is to install Windows 10 on another device to replace this one. Windows 7 Embedded is close to 'end of life' support which makes it less stable than a newer OS with active updates available. | |
