Posted by Robert Joseph on 09 October 2018 05:16 PM

Background

Microsoft released an update for Office 2016 (Version 1808, Build 10730.20088) that causes an issue displaying EIOBoard correctly for users who are not on the Windows 10 Version 1803. The display is completely or partially blank. The Add-In does not show other EIOBoard Users within the allotted pane. This issue was reported for a few different versions of the Outlook Add-In from 9.1.0 to 10.1.5.

Resolutions

1. Open Outlook, go to File -> Options -> General. Look for a section called 'User Interface Options' and check the option 'Optimize for compatibility.' An application restart is required to finalize this change.

Alternatively, a Windows 10 Update Version 1803 fixes the Add-In issue described. When installing that update, it requires more than 1 reboot to finish installing the update, entirely.

Unable to Update Windows 10?

Currently, rolling back Office 2016 updates to Version 1807 (Build 10325.20118) to fix the issue, but it requires disabling Office Updates altogether.

The same applies to Office365 updates needs be held at version 1807 so that EIOBoard works and disable the Office Updates. Preventing Office from automatically install the update that breaks the Add-In.
