How to export Timecard to Microsoft Excel

Create a new Payroll type:

  1. Open the EIOBoard desktop application
  2. Navigate to "Administrator" at the top of the window
  3. Select the "Timecard" tab at the top of the screen
  4. Select "Payroll Types" in the new tabs that appeared under the "Timecard" tab
  5. Click "Add" at the bottom of the screen
  6. Give your Payroll type a "Payroll type name" and a "Payroll type export name" 
  7. Now select which days, hours, and deductions you may want to have shown in your Payroll
  8. Now navigate to "Status" on the right side of the window
  9. Choose the statuses you want to have shown in the Payroll timecard (your screen should look similar to the screenshot bellow)
  10. Click "Add" to have them added into your payroll type
  11. Once completed click "Save" at the bottom of the screen
  12. You have now created a new Payroll Type 
Create a new Payroll Export Template:
  1. Open the EIOBoard desktop application
  2. Navigate to "Administrator" at the top of the window
  3. Select the "Timecard" tab at the top of the screen
  4. Select "Payroll Export Templates" in the new tabs that appeared under the "Timecard" tab
  5. Click on "New"
  6. Give the template a name (required) and a description (if desired) 
  7. Next under "Export Option" on the left of the screen click on "Other" under "Payroll System"
  8. Then under the "Delemiter" tab click on "tab"
  9. Now change the "File Extension" from "txt" to "xls" (without the quotes)
  10. Under "For Each Name and Date Export" choose "Each Payroll Type is a New Row" (your screen setup should look like the screenshot bellow)
  11. You can also select 'Each Payroll Type is a New Column' - then select which Payroll Types you wish to have in this export template
    1. To add a Payroll Type to the Template, simply drag it down from the box into the example grid
    2. Once the Payroll Type is in the grid, it will as appear as an option in 'Payroll Types in Total'. To have those hours added to the Total count, simply check that box.
  12. At the top of the screen click "Save" (don't worry if the file extension shows up as empty)

Create a timecard:

  1. Open the EIOBoard desktop application
  2. Navigate to "More" at the top of the window
  3. Select "Timesheets" in the drop down list
  4. Select "Create Timecards" in the "Timesheets" window
  5. Choose the contacts you wish to create a timecard for
  6. Click "Next"
  7. In the "Payroll Options" tab, set "Choose Export Template" to the name of the template you created above
  8. Next select the desired export location (Where your excel timecard will be found)
  9. Click "Next"
  10. In the "Pay Period" tab select your desired range of days to be displayed on your timecard
  11. Click "Next"
  12. You should now be viewing a preview of your newly created timecard 
  13. Click "Next"
  14. When the "Are you sure you wish to process selected timecards" window pops up select "Yes"
  15. Now click on the link to your newly created Excel timecard document
  16. Double click the file to open it in Excel
  17. A window will pop up in Excel saying something about a file format issue, ignore this and select "Yes"
  18. You have now Created a timecard and exported it to excel!
