How to Manually Uninstall EIOBoard Server Components
Posted by Jacob Fairbairn on 05 December 2012 10:24 AM

Normally, you should be able to remove your EIOBoard Server through Add/Remove Programs, Change or Remove a Program, or Programs and Features. However, if some sort of corruption occurred during the installation, you may get this (or a similar) error message preventing an uninstallation:

Here are the necessary steps to solve this issue:

  1. Make sure that the EIOBoard Server service is stopped, and close EIOBoard completely.
  2. If you have already been using your EIOBoard, you are going to want to back up your database. This should not tamper with your database, but it never hurts to make a back up if you are working on your server.
  3. Delete the following Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{4B4C2097-D438-4B1E-A50B-2987D0B0630A}
  4. Delete ALL Savance Registry keys, data, and values. They can be found in one of the following locations:
      32-bit Server: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Savance
      64-bit Server: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Savance
  5. Go to IIS and delete your EIOBoard site or Virtual Directory.
  6. If you created an app pool specific to EIOBoard in IIS, delete it.
  7. Delete all EIOBoard Server folders in your Program Files. If you are having permission issues, you will want to make sure you are logged in as an administrator. If you are still having permission issues, you may want to stop IIS. Again, make sure that all EIOBoard services are stopped and all programs are closed as well.
  8. Now you should be able to remove your EIOBoard Server through Add/Remove ProgramsChange or Remove a Program, or Programs and Features.
  9. If you can't, use the Windows Installer Cleanup Tool to remove it.

If you were trying to do a fresh install of EIOBoard, you should be able to do so now. If you need the latest Server Installer, it can be found here:
