Telephone Application Protocol Integration

If your phone system supports TAPI and has a TSP driver then it should support the phone integration with our latest EIOBoard .NET Application and Outlook Interfaces.
TAPI integration is available in both the Customer-Hosted and EIOBoard-Hosted versions of EIOBoard. The only difference is the EIOBoard-Hosted version changes Statuses client side while the Customer-Hosted version changes Statuses server side.

For EIOBoard-Hosted versions the first thing you will need to do is configure the TAPI settings in the Administrator by following the steps below.

1. Open the Administrator in the EIOBoard .NET Application or EIOBoard Outlook Interface.
2. Click the "Telephone" tab.
3. Check “Enable Telephone Support”, select your “TSP Provider Name”, and press the “Save” button.
4. Now restart the EIOBoard .NET Application Interface or Outlook and your TAPI should be enabled.

For Customer-Hosted versions the first thing you will need to do is configure the TAPI settings on the EIOBoard Server program on your server by following the steps below.

1. Your server must be version 6.1 or higher.
2. On your server, open the EIOBoard Server Admin by either double clicking the server icon in the system tray near the clock or by going to the Start menu and navigating to Programs, Savance, EIOBoard Server, EIOBoard Server Admin.
3. Click the “Management” menu and select “Settings”.
4. In the Settings screen click the “TAPI” tab.
5. Check “Enable Telephone Support”, select your “Telephony Provider Name”, and check “Server Manages Status Updates”.
6. Click the “Save” button and exit the EIOBoard Server Admin.

Next you will need to configure the settings in the EIOBoard Outlook Interface by following the steps below. This section applies to both Customer-Hosted and EIOBoard-Hosted versions of EIOBoard.

1. Install and configure a TSP (TAPI Service Provider) driver.
2. Install 6.1 or higher of the EIOBoard .NET Application Interface or EIOBoard Outlook Interface.
3. In the EIOBoard Application or EIOBoard Outlook Interface, click the “Settings” button.
4. In the Settings, click the “Default Status” tab.
5. Under the “Telephone Integration” section, you should see the message that “TAPI is enabled” and your extension. If you do not see that TAPI is enabled, you either need to configure your server still or you may need to restart the EIOBoard Application or EIOBoard Outlook Interface. You will also need to make sure your extension is properly configured in the Administrator.
6. Under the “Telephone Integration” section, check the boxes stating that you want to set your status and select the desired status you want to change to when you are on a call and when you finish the call.
