In the Company Settings section of the Administrator, there is a setting called “Disable Modification of Processed Future Statuses”.  If this setting is checked, non-administrators will not be able to edit or delete a future status that has already been processed.  This includes Future Statuses that are still in progress.  If users without EB-Admin security rights cannot delete a Future Status, it may be because this setting is checked.
