What is the difference between the EIOBoard Application, Browser, Mobile, and Kiosk Interfaces?
Posted by Savance on 24 January 2010 04:17 PM

The EIOBoard Application Interface runs only on Windows-based computers, such as Windows XP/Vista/7/8. It is a small application that interfaces with the database through port 80 or 1433 using HTTP or HTTPS. The application interface offers some unique benefits over the web interface. Some of these benefits include Outlook/GroupWise Synchronization, Auto-Status In/Out, and Idle timer.

The EIOBoard Outlook Add-In Interface has the exact same features as the Application, running on Windows-based computers. However, this interface is integrated into Microsoft Outlook, allowing for easy use for users who prefer to see their status board with Outlook.

The EIOBoard Browser Interface is accessed from a web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla FireFox, Google Chrome Netscape Navigator, Opera, etc. This interface can run on any operating system as long as a web browser is present.

The EIOBoard Mobile Interface runs on any web-enabled mobile device with network/internet access.

The EIOBoard Kiosk Interface runs on any windows-based PC or hardware kiosk solution that Savance offers. The kiosk lets you change your status on your way in and out of the building, check your notes, and can even unlock a door.

You can take a tour of all these interfaces or read the side-by-side comparison.
