EIOBoard CE Kiosk Install or Upgrade
Posted by Savance on 24 June 2010 08:51 AM

To install or upgrade the latest version of the EIOBoard CE Kiosk software on your Windows CE device follow the instructions below. Please note that you MUST configure or upgrade your server before you can run the latest version of the kiosk software. If possible, you may want to attach a USB keyboard to the CE device to make the upgrade and configuration changes easier.

If you are upgrading an existing kiosk, run the steps below. If this is a new installation you can skip these steps.

  1. On the CE device, exit out of the Kiosk software if it is currently running. You can do this by entering "7282623" for the ID, logging in, and clicking the "Exit App" button in the Settings.
  2. Open "My Device\HardDisk\Startup".
  3. Delete "EIOBoardKioskCE.exe". If you do not have a keyboard attached you can press the icon until a menu appears and select "Delete".
  4. Restart the kiosk.

For either a new installation or an upgrade follow the steps below.

  1. Open Internet Explorer and navigate to:
    http://www.eioboard.com/downloads/EIOBoardKioskCE7.cab
  2. Save the file to "My Device\HardDisk" and close the window and Internet Explorer.
  3. Run "EIOBoardKioskCE61.cab" from "My Device\HardDisk" and install to the default directory.
  4. When the installation is finished, you can either run "EIOBoardKioskCE" from the "My Device\HardDisk\Startup" folder, open "EIOBoard Kiosk" from the Start menu, or just reboot the CE device.
  5. If you are prompted for an Activation Code, email the "Registration Code" back to support@eioboard.com requesting a kiosk Activation Code. Please keep in mind that both the Registration Code and Activation Code is case sensitive. Once this code is applied you will need to run the kiosk again which is explained in the step above.
  6. When the EIOBoard Kiosk software opens, you will need to go into the Settings by entering "7282623" for the ID on the Employee Login screen if it does not open automatically.
  7. You will need to enter an EIOBoard User Name and Password, define Status Buttons and Return Time Buttons, and you may also want to configure a View so the kiosk can be used to display users and their statuses when not in use.
