Miscellaneous Charges
Posted by Michael Renock on 07 October 2014 01:40 PM

This knowledge base article covers miscellaneous charges.  Miscellaneous charges are added to Savance Enterprise as a type of inventory item.  They can be used for any type of extra charge you would like to designate it for, such as a finder's fee.

Add Miscellaneous Charge

You can add a miscellaneous charge to Savance Enterprise by hitting the New button on the Inventory Lookup screen.

You can also right-click on a blank line-item of the quote spreadsheet and choose the Edit/Create Part Number In BS option.

This brings up the Inventory Creation Wizard.  Simply start filling in the details you are prompted for on each step of the wizard and hit the Next button.  When you are required to choose the Inventory Type, be sure to choose the Misc Charge option.

On the Manufacturer and Legacy Info step of the wizard, be sure to add a unique part number that you will primarily be using to reference the miscellaneous charge.

Use the Pricing & Cost screen to enter how much the miscellaneous charge should be.  Column pricing and formulas can also be used, if you really want to get fancy with it.

The rest of the information that you are able to key in is optional, so fill in as much as you want.  Once the miscellaneous charge has been successfully added, you can enter it on a quote just like with a regular inventory item.  Since it isn't a regular inventory item, things like quantity and back ordering do not apply.

You are also able to search for miscellaneous charges using Inventory Lookup.  By default, they are associated with the SENI manufacturer, which stands for Savance Enterprise Non-Inventory.  So, searching upon this manufacturer is the quickest way to see all miscellaneous items in the system.
