How to Upgrade RAM on the EEE Asus PC

The instructions below will walk you through how to upgrade the RAM on your EEE Asus PC, which is used for EIOBoard's Kiosk software. For a Youtube video on this process, please visit the link below:

Opening a Asus EEEBox B202

First, you’ll want to unscrew and take off the stand and antenna, if you’ve already put those on. Once you’ve done that, locate the hard drive on the bottom side of the PC. Unscrew the two screws that are holding the hard drive in place (one of them may be under a sticker, so just remove the sticker). To remove the hard drive, pop up the tiny handle using a screw driver.

Once you have done this, remove the hard drive.

Now that the hard drive has been removed, you will need to remove the side cover. You will be removing the side without any stickers on it. Remove the screws on the bottom side next to the hard drive slot. Again, a sticker may need to be removed in order to access one of the screws.

Gently prop up the side once the screws are removed. You may need to wedge in a flat head screw driver or something similar in order to prop it up. Start by propping the cover up on the side with the hard drive slot, and then slowly work your way around to the opposite side. Then take the side cover off and set it aside.

Now you will be able to access the bay that holds the memory. Unscrew the container over this.

Remove the memory chip and insert the new memory chip.

Once you have finished swapping these out, all you have left to do is put everything back together. Screw the cover for the memory back on, snap the PC side cover back on (in reverse order as it was taken off), screw the cover back on, insert the hard drive back into place, and screw the hard drive in. Now you have finished upgrading the RAM on your PC!
