Posted by Kevin Merta on 15 August 2012 05:28 PM

Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 have the ability to display Gadgets on your desktop.Gadgets are mini programs that offer useful information at a glance. For example, you may want to add a Gadget that displays the current temperature. You can have that displayed on top of the EIOBoard Kiosk at all times.

To add a Gadget, you would first need to close or minimize the Kiosk to get to the Windows desktop. Right-click on the desktop and choose Gadgets. Choose the Gadget that you would like to add, such as Weather, by double-clicking it. You can also choose the “Get more gadgets online” option if you do not see one that you like.

After the Gadget is on your desktop, right-click it to bring up a popup menu. You will want to choose “Always on top”. You can also change its size or open an Options menu for additional configuration.

Once you have configured the Gadget the way you would like it, you can open the EIOBoard Kiosk. You can easily move the widget around by holding the left mouse button and dragging it around until it is in a desired spot.
