How to Add and Use a New Server Printer in OrderSavant

Install Windows Driver

  • First you will need to add the printer in Windows.  Download and install the driver provided from the manufacturer.

  • Next, print a test page from Windows and ensure that it printed properly.

 

Add the Printer to the Savance Server application

Open the Savance Server application by clicking on the below icon which should be located on your desktop

 
 

Click on the Management-Printers menu/

 
 

Down at the bottom you should see a button called ‘Refresh Printer’.   Click on that button.

 

 

Click on ‘Ignore’ until you see your printer that you just added in windows appear.  Once you do, click on ‘Add New’.

 
 

Now select the proper Warehouse and then click on ‘Save’

 

If any other ‘Refresh Printers’ windows appear after you click ‘Save’, click on ‘Ignore’ until they stop popping up.  The system will loop through all of the Windows printers that are installed that are not already added to OrderSavant.

 

 

Configure your OrderSavant Template to use the New Printer

Open the OrderSavant Application by clicking on the icon below which should be located on your desktop

 

Click on the Admin-Administrator menu

 
 

Click on the ‘Print Templates’ tab

 
 

On the left hand side, select the Template that you would like to use this printer.  Once selected, on the right side, click on the ‘Printer Mapping’ tab and click on the checkbox next to the new printer to allow this template to use this printer.

 
 
 

Configure OrderSavant to Use your Template and New Printer as a System Default

Click on the ‘Document Types’ tab within the Administrator

 
 

On the left, select the Document Type that you want to work with.  On the right, click on the ‘New’ button

 
 

You will notice that the bottom half of the screen now allows you to select the ‘Warehouse’, ‘Template’, ‘Printer’, and optionally an ‘Account’ if this is an account specific default.   Select the proper settings and click on the ‘Add’ button.

 

Once you click on ‘Add’, you will now see your new default loaded for that document type
