Array was updated, but the change does not appear in OrderSavant

OrderSavant has the capability to do continuous imports of Orders, POs, and Inventory. This means that if you make a change to an Order, a PO, or an Inventory Item in Array the change will also be imported into OrderSavant almost immediately. (Within a minute or two, depending on the settings in the import program on your OrderSavant server.) For everything else (Accounts, Vendors, Comments, Customer Notes, Contracts, and Terms) there is a nightly import that runs on the OrderSavant server to import the data from Array.

As an example, let’s say you added a new Account in Array. This new Account will not immediately be available in OrderSavant, but should be available the following morning after the nightly import runs. If it is critical that you have this Account in OrderSavant the same day you can manually add them to OrderSavant (assuming you have Administrative rights) and they will be synchronized at night from Array. The same is true for Vendors.

If it has been more than one day since you have updated Array and you still do not see the change, please contact Savance support. It is likely that the import program is not running on your server or there was a problem.

The import program that runs on the OrderSavant server is called “BSSavant”, which stands for Business System Savant. This system must be logged on and this program must be running in order for the imports to happen. If OrderSavant is not being updated properly the first thing to check is if the system is logged on. The second thing to check is if this software is running. Another anomaly we have seen relates to having two instances of the software running (now prevented in future releases). This usually occurs when users open up different sessions over remote desktop.

The next thing to check is the BSSavant log which you can view by right clicking on the system tray icon and selecting "View Log". This will show the history of the imports. Finally, you can go into the settings, make sure the imports are enabled, and make sure the real-time imports are enabled.

Finally, make sure that the FTP username and password still are valid and that there are not too many files waiting to be imported by the continuous imports. If this occurs, sometimes the best way is just to delete everything in /data13/savance/exports. If there are too many files, sometimes a rm *.* will not work and will return “parameter list too long”. If that happens follow this article.
